Rubén holds a law degree and master's in tax and administrative law from the Barra Nacional de Abogados Law School. Trilingual in Spanish, English and Hebrew, he has over seventeen years of experience advising on tax law, criminal-tax law, administrative law, administrative-sanctions law and amparo. He has completed programs including the International Criminal Law Course (Ilustre Nacional Colegio de Abogados), the AML Diploma and Terrorist Operations & Counter-Intelligence Diploma (INACIPE), the Illicit Funds Diploma (Financial Intelligence Unit), the Criminal-Tax Diploma (Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados), and the 18th & 19th Annual Meeting U.S.–Mexico Cross-Border Tax Updates and International Litigation and Arbitration Retreat organized by Procopio Law and Georgetown University Law Center. He is an expert in arbitration as the preferred dispute-resolution mechanism, especially under ICC rules, and is an active member of the ICC and the Young Arbitrators Commission of the Mexican Institute of Arbitration. His career was forged at world-renowned firms including EY, Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa and OSY, and at the Specialized Unit on Tax and Financial Crimes of the PGR. He has been involved in crude-oil platform bidding processes in the Campeche Basin, and has advised on offshore structures in Panama, Singapore, the Bahamas and the Isle of Man, as well as U.S. LLCs and C-Corps. Together with partner Jonathan Santillán, he leads the firm's private security practice.
